This is a useful reframe of the immigration debate. Most coverage focuses on border encounters and deportation numbers, but the piece makes a fair point that stripping legal status from people already here (TPS holders, visa holders, etc.) is an intentional policy change lacking foresight and having real economic consequences. The healthcare, construction, and agriculture labor shortage numbers are worth sitting with.
